What PD Tracker collects, what it doesn't, and who else is involved.

Last updated: 24 August 2026

The short version. Everything you log in the tracker — symptoms, medications, meals, falls, notes, and the name you give your tracker — stays in your browser on your device. It is never transmitted anywhere, because there is no server to transmit it to. The only thing measured is that a page was opened.

What you log in the tracker

PD Tracker has no accounts, no login, and no backend. Everything you enter is written to localStorage, a standard storage area belonging to your browser on the device you are using.

This means your entries are never sent to me, to a hosting provider, or to any third party. I have no ability to read them, recover them, or hand them to anyone — not to an insurer, an employer, an advertiser, or in response to a legal request, because they are not in my possession.

It also means the responsibility for keeping them is yours. Clearing your browser's site data will delete them, private browsing windows discard them on close, and data does not sync between browsers or devices. Use Settings → Export My Data to keep a backup.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of any kind — not for logins, not for preferences, and not for tracking. Nothing follows you from this site to another.

The tracker's use of localStorage exists solely to store the data you deliberately entered, on your own device, so the app can show it to you again. It holds no identifier for you and is not used to recognise or profile you.

Analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits. It records that a page was opened, roughly which country the visit came from, which page referred it, and basic browser and performance information.

It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, does not fingerprint your browser, and does not track you across other websites. Cloudflare uses the IP address to determine an approximate country and then discards it; it is not stored in their analytics records.

None of what you log in the tracker is included in this. Not your symptoms, medications, meals, notes, tracker name, or anything else you typed — those never leave your device, so there is nothing for analytics to collect.

This tells me whether anyone is finding the site. It cannot tell me whether you use the tracker, what you logged, or whether you came back.

The contact form

The contact form is the one place where you can deliberately send me something. It is delivered by Formspree, a third-party form service, and passes through their systems on the way to my email.

Whatever you type into that form — your message, your email address, and your name if you provide it — is sent to Formspree and then to me. Please do not put personal health details into it. It is for feedback and bug reports about the app, and it is not a secure or appropriate channel for medical information.

Formspree handles that data under their own privacy policy. Using the form is entirely optional; the tracker itself works without it.

What this site does not do

Offline storage

PD Tracker installs a service worker, which saves the app's own files — the pages, stylesheet, fonts, and icons — into your browser's cache so the app opens without an internet connection.

This stores only the app itself, never your entries. Removing the site from your browser or clearing site data removes it.

Hosting

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare's servers process the requests needed to deliver pages to you, which necessarily involves your IP address in transit.

There is no application server, no database, and no logging of what you do inside the app.

Children

This site is intended for adults managing their own or a family member's Parkinson's care. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights over your data

Because your entries never reach me, the usual requests — access, correction, deletion, export — are things you carry out yourself, immediately and without asking anyone:

If you have written to me through the contact form and want that message deleted, ask and I will delete it.

This is not medical advice

PD Tracker is a self-tracking diary, not a diagnostic or treatment tool. It does not replace your neurologist or care team, and it never suggests a dose, a schedule, or a course of action. Always follow the guidance of your prescribing doctor.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be noted on the site rather than made quietly.

Questions about privacy can go through the contact form. PD Tracker is an independent project by Byte Communications and is not affiliated with any hospital, pharmaceutical company, or patient organisation.
